We moved 1.8 TB of matter files to Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, connected document scanning to client folders and retired the office server — with modern device management and faster internet.

Before
- Matter files, precedents and scans were held on one ageing file server.
- Konica Minolta printers scanned to local folders, requiring manual filing.
- Computers used a local Active Directory domain without modern device management.
- Slow, asymmetric internet could not support cloud files and Teams across the firm.
After
- 1.8 TB of documents available through Teams and SharePoint.
- Konica Minolta printers scan directly into client folders.
- Every computer rebuilt into Microsoft Entra ID with Intune; the old server decommissioned.
- Swoop 500/500 Mbps NBN Enterprise Ethernet and a Cisco Meraki network with 16 cameras.
Modernise without losing the filing structure
We mapped the full file structure and matter numbering, then designed matching Teams and SharePoint document libraries. Printer scanning was integrated into those client folders.
The upgrade included rebuilding every computer with Entra ID and Intune, replacing the internet connection and installing the Meraki network and cameras. With files moved to the cloud, the office server could be retired.
“We came in on Monday and the server was simply gone. Scanning is faster than it ever was, files open from anywhere, and nobody is waiting on the network any more.”
