Connected Rear Warehouse with Fibre

A manufacturing site needed to extend the network to a rear warehouse filled with CNC machines and CCTV cameras. Wireless was not an option due to heavy interference from plant equipment, so we ran a dedicated 300-metre fibre link with ducting, then tied it back to the office core and onward to the data centre.

Key outcomes

  • fibre run with protected ducting300m
  • core-to-core and dark fibre to data centre100Gbps
  • CCTV cameras and CNC machines connected reliably40

Manufacturing Company Stopped Data Leaks with DLP in Days

A manufacturing company suspected sensitive drawings, pricing and customer lists were leaving the business. Within days of implementing Microsoft 365 Data Loss Prevention policies, the company discovered files being shared with competitors and unknown email addresses, and stopped further exfiltration before major damage occurred.

Key outcomes

  • from deployment to first leak detectedDays
  • visibility into protected data sharing100%
  • further leaks after policy enforcement0

Manufacturing Company Server-to-Cloud Migration with Azure and Microsoft 365

A manufacturing company's on-premise servers were end of life and hosted Active Directory, file shares, Exchange, an accounting package and FileMaker. We moved the entire workload to the cloud with Entra ID, Azure Files, SharePoint, Office 365 Exchange Online, an Azure VM for FileMaker, and a 1 Gbps Swoop Enterprise Ethernet NBN link over a site-to-site VPN.

Key outcomes

  • Servers retired5
  • Cloud uplink1Gbps
  • Cloud identity coverage100%

Industrial Estate Connected with P2P Wireless and Bonded SHDSL Before NBN

Before NBN and Starlink existed, a customer moving into a brand new industrial estate had no copper, no ADSL and no fibre. The incumbent telco quoted $400,000 to install fibre. Instead, we built a point-to-point wireless link to a friendly neighbouring building and bonded two SHDSL connections to deliver 40 Mbps symmetrical for $500 per month. The wireless link is still in place today, upgraded to air fibre, while the SHDSL lines have been replaced with a 1 Gbps FTTP NBN connection.

Key outcomes

  • Avoided fibre build cost$400k
  • Initial symmetrical speed40 Mbps
  • Monthly SHDSL cost$500

Dark Fibre Links a Laser Steel Factory 19 km From Its Office

A laser steel cutting factory and its head office were 19 km apart and connected only by a slow VPN over NBN. Large production files, CAD/CAM downloads and server access at the factory dragged, and there was no line of sight for a wireless link. We provisioned a dedicated Vocus dark fibre path between the sites and upgraded the office internet to 250 Mbps with WatchGuard firewalls in high availability.

Key outcomes

  • dedicated dark fibre between sites10Gbps
  • private fibre span19km
  • symmetrical office internet250Mbps
